I am excited that The Little Alphabot Book will be donated to the children of the families coming to Canada in a couple of months through Project Tibet. I have been fortunate with my book and it feels great to be able to help when i can! www.projecttibetsociety.ca
I created this papier mache piece a few months back. The piece entitled Phoenix,
is 32" long by 12"in heighth.
It is done in a Mexican folkart style... it was a lot of fun to make and might do
some more this summer.
Just closed my website DarrenThompson.ca.
Time to move on.
The website served me well and I enjoyed sharing my
artwork and events with friends and clients.
I can still be reached through this blogsite as well

It was Robot/Donut Day at the St. Thomas-Elgin Public Art Centre in Southern Ontario, Canada.
Looks like the kids were having fun painting and eating donuts!
I am posting this on behalf of my friends who live in Peru, who had sent out this email to anyone who might be able to make a donation. Please read the post below
Thank you , Darren.
Dear Friends A catastrophe has struck a small pueblo not far from me. Several weeks of heavy rain resulted in a glacial river bursting its banks, sending rushing water churning down the mountain, pushing rocks, boulders, and trees along the way. The village of Tanccac lay in its path and, as a r...esult, paid the biggest price: agricultural fields buried in mud, wiping out a year’s plantings; carpenter shops flattened, not a nail in sight; farm animals drowned; and 48 adobe houses collapsed. In all, over 100 families have lost some or all of their housing, clothing, work, furniture – all the things that they need to survive. Many were injured. None died. (Photos attached.) I am writing on behalf of forty-six children, who will be starting school in two weeks. While the government has provided tents and the small municipality has provided foodstuffs, supplemented by donations, the children are in need of backpacks, notebooks and pencils. It will take close to $15 to outfit one child with these supplies. Please consider making a donation either via your Paypal account (instructions below) or a personal check to me at: Rosemary Poland, 209 Darrel Road, LaGrange, NC 28551, which she will deposit into my bank Imagine forty-six smiling faces and pat yourself on the back.
Thanks so much. Linda

I am presently trying to contact The Tibetancultural Societyofbritishcolumbia to arrange for my alphabet books to be donated and distributed to some of the Tibetan Children that are being re-settled into Canada, partially for their education, through Project Tibet Society. www.projecttibetsociety.ca. I am hopeful that this will happen xxx
